About the COVE

The COVE Youth Center is in the pop up phase of development in Friday Harbor. In 2018, it will begin popping up weekly at local businesses after hours to give high school students a safe place to hang out with access to academic and professional resources. The COVE is a response to needs made evident through community assessments. Youth services are sparse in the San Juan Islands and this program aims to fill a crucial gap in services for the local youth population.

  • COMMUNITY: safe hangout place for high school students
  • OPPORTUNITY: relevant life skill offerings and youth job connections
  • VISION: internships with local professionals, college assistance, etc.
  • EMPOWERMENT: access to crisis and mental health resources
